Hybrid Poplar & Hybrid Willow

Hybrid Poplar (Populus deltoids x Polulus nigra). Known as the Imperial Carolina or dn-34 clone. Grows 50-80’. Crown width can be 30-40’. Grows on a variety of soils but does best on well fertilized soil that has moisture retention. Resistant to septoria canker. Fast growing shade tree. It’s large glossy green leaves rustle in wind. Adaptable in arid to wet sites. They are used to clean the water table in phytoremediation projects. Great for landscaping, windbreaks, privacy screens, firewood lots and the wood is used in the building trade. Deep planting is recommended as they will continue to root along the stem underground. Under ideal conditions they grow up to 5’ a year. Zones 2-9.

Hybrid Willow (Salix). Hardy upright erect tree. Great for windbreak or hedge. Fast growing. Dark red bark. Compact dense habit. Adds color to the landscape after it looses its leaves. Zones 3-8.

  Mix with water to achieve a slurry and dip the roots only to retain moisture during and after planting your plants. Keep any left over crystals in zip lock bag. Small amount of gel goes a long way.

All unrooted hybrid poplar and hybrid willow cuttings are 10" in length and a minimum of 3/8" caliper. Use only when soil, moisure and vegetation control are optimum.
             
All rooted hybrid poplar and hybrid willow cuttings are state inspected and guaranteed fresh and healthy at shipment.
 
Note:  All evergreen seedlings and deciduous trees and shrubs are sold in bundles of 25.
           Minimum order is 100 pieces per species.  500 pieces of a species gets the 1000 rate.                                               
What to do if you are unable to plant your trees upon receipt. We strongly advise that you plant them as soon as possible upon arrival. If unable to plant them immediately, try to access a cooler. Otherwise store them in a cool area, away from the sun and wind, open slightly the package and make sure that the roots remain damp.

Shipping Seasons:
Spring shipment usually starts in late March through May. Temperatures at that time of year determine the start and end date. Fall shipment starts at the end of September and may proceed until the end of November depending on weather factors for each area involved in the shipping season. We ship from our storage facility to clients who have made arrangements to receive stock during the winter months.  A 25% deposit is required to reserve stock and is non refundable if order is cancelled after March 15 in the spring and after September 1 in the fall. Net balance is due March 1 for spring delivery and September 1 for fall delivery.

Nursery stock may be picked up at the nursery once an appointment is set up or arrangements can be made to ship federal express ground or freight or by common carrier. All prices quoted are F.O.B. nursery. All shipments are at buyers own risk. Our liability ceases upon delivery to the carrier. Breakage or spoilage claims due to transit should be immediately made to the transportation company. Claims for deduction or error must be made within 5 days of shipment.
